What Works Brief Training
The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning at Vanderbilt University has come up with pre made presentations for teachers and adults to use to learn and teach about emotional literacy. The ideas in the What Works Training are grounded in the pyramid model (depicted to the left) which provides a framework for describing the 4 interrelated levels of practice that address the social and emotional development to all children. The 4 levels, from bottom up, include Effective Workforce, Supportive environments/responsive relationships, targeted social and emotional supports and at the top is the intensive intervention. Each What Works Training Kit prepares in-service and pre-service providers with it's included powerpoint notes, handouts, activities, pre-training forms, demographic forms, training evaluations and a completion certificate.
